MALIK TILLMAN last night credited boss Michael Beale for reigniting his Rangers loan.

The Bayern Munich kid struggled to maintain a bright start at Ibrox as Gio van Bronckhorst’s Gers reign crumbled.

But the rejuvenated US international has been a consistent star performer since new gaffer Beale checked in and grabbed his fourth goal since the Londoner’s arrival in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Ross County.

“I think the way we play under the new manager is a bit different and it suits me more than before,” said Tillman.

“I’m always happy to help the team, obviously. But the most important thing is the team’s success.

“I’m glad that I was able to help and that we got three points in both of the games this week.

“I came here to help the team score goals and assist goals. That’s what I can do, that’s what I like to do.

“It’s just the way I play. I do want to score so it suits the way I want to play and the coach wants the team to play.

“I’m always happy to help the team. But the most important thing is the team’s success.

“I’m glad I was able to help and we got three points in both of the games this week.”

Germany is where it all began for Tillman but the big question remaining is whether he sees his future in Glasgow.

He wasn’t up for discussing the matter as he spoke after Saturday’s 2-1 win.

Tillman said: “I can still improve a lot. I have improved but, as I said, there is still a lot to come.

“I would say the biggest lesson I’ve learned has been the physicality of Scottish football.

“It’s a reason why I came here as well, so I can learn and come back and do it better.”
