RTE sport presenter Valerie Wheeler is engaged.
The TV and radio broadcaster announced the wonderful news with her followers on social media.
Her long-term partner Gavin Young popped the question while the couple enjoyed a romantic holiday in New York.
Valerie, who fans will recognise from RTE’S sport coverage and the Sunday Game, posted a snap of her sparkling engagement ring on Instagram. The happy husband and wife-to-be could be seen smiling on top of the famous Rockefeller Center in Manhattan.
Valerie wrote: “A rock on top of the rock. 03-01-2024.”
It wasn’t long before the couple were inundated with congratulatory messages from followers.
And Cork footballer Valerie Mulcahy wrote: “Fantastic news guys.” Anna Geary added: “Huge congrats” while Valerie’s RTE sport colleague Evanne Ni Chuilinn said: “Ah the best news congrats Val!”
