GIVEN the devastatin­g floods here right now, this four-parter is hugely timely.

Just a few days ago, hero Liam Stych leapt into a river to rescue a mum and child from a car dragged under a footbridge in Birmingham.

And that is pretty much exactly how this gripping drama begins as a man jumps into deep waters to save a mother and baby.

The Nest actor Sophie Rundle leads a starry cast, including Philip Glenister, Lorraine Ashbourne, Jonas Armstrong and Nicholas Gleaves.

She plays PC Joanna Marshall, an officer dedicated to her community who wants to make a difference.

She’s ambitious and yearns to become a detective, but now she’s become pregnant, her overprotec­tive husband is desperate slow down.

After a flash flood devastates the town, the drama heads into thriller territory when an unidentifi­ed man is found dead in a lift in an undergroun­d car park.

Police assume he was trapped as the waters rose.

But as the investigat­ion unfolds, PC Marshall becomes obsessed with discoverin­g what happened to him
