David gets Youth vote to take title

- BY SANDRA MALLON

WILD Youth singer David Whelan is now the red-hot 11/10 favourite for Dancing With The Stars.

According to bookies, Boylesports, he is now a popular choice with punters to win the show.

The singer smashed the Charleston on Sunday night to score 24 with his dance partner Salome Chacua.

Brian O’keeffe, from Boylesports, said: “It was another drama filled night on the dancefloor, with David Whelan’s Charleston taking centre stage.

“Katja Mia and Rosanna Davison followed suit and really impressed the judges, but David remains the star of the show according to punters.”

2FM star Laura Fox, who started the show as the punters’ pick, is now 11/4 second favourite.

This was after the RTE golden girl scored 22 for her contemporary ballroom to Taylor Swift’s Bad Summer.

SALSA

Former Miss World Rosanna Davison was the first to take to the dancefloor, with her stunning salsa.

Having been available at odds of 9/1 before Sunday, she is now just 13/2 to lift the Glitterball trophy.

Katja and Miriam are both finding their dancing shoes, with Katja’s flirtatious foxtrot scoring 22 and Tiktok sensation Miriam’s salsa earning her a score of 21.

Miriam is now a 6/1 chance and Katja unchanged since night one, at 8/1.

Davy Russell (14/1) and Jason Smyth (10/1) had lastminute substitutions as their professional partners were ruled out with illness.

The pair struggled to adapt and scored 15 and 17 points.

Rory Cowan escaped bottom place this week as he passed the mantle to Eileen Dunne, who scored 13 points and is now 66/1 to go all the way.
