Cash points legislation to be reviewed

NEW rules stating that there must be a certain number of ATMS per every 100,000 people will be considered by the Government today.
Finance Minister Michael Mcgrath will ask Cabinet to approve his Access to Cash Bill to ensure continued reasonable access.
The Department of Finance’s 2022 Retail Banking Review found there is a reasonable level of cash access in the State.
However, it noted there is no framework to maintain that degree of access into the future.
The Central Bank will be responsible for the monitoring and enforcement of the legislation and will have the necessary powers to ensure compliance.
ACTRESS Amy Huberman has revealed she will be back on set filming a new movie this spring in Ireland.
She is one of the stars of Amazon Prime’s Last One Laughing series, which was the No1 watched show on the streaming service over the weekend.
The mum-of-three, who was speaking at the launch of the Dublin International Film Festival on Monday, said: “I have been getting incremental texts from people because it’s quite a bingeable show.”
The Dublin International Film Festival opens with director Marian Quinn’s crime drama TWIG on February 22.
Festival director Grainne Humphreys said: “We are honoured to open with the world premiere of TWIG, this fantastic Dublin-set film will kick off a packed 10 days of film screenings, public events, talks, panels and parties.”
Amy also admitted her and rugby legend hsband Brian O’driscoll always make their busy schedules work, adding: “He’s away for a lot of the weekend, but he’s here during the week.”
