Star juggling DWTS and TV presenter job
DANCING With The Stars hopeful Katja Mia admitted she can feel “overwhelmed” taking part in the series while juggling her Virgin Media job.
The Six O’clock Show presenter is hoping to lift the Glitterball trophy with her pro-dance partner Ervinas Merfedlas on this year’s competition.
But Katja, 27, said juggling her work and home life can be tricky but she said she is trying to take it all in her stride.
She told us: “If I’m being super honest, I think I just take every day as it is.
“There are some weeks that can get really overwhelming and like, all you can do is just, you know, be where you need to be and then the house is falling apart and you’re not even eating the best.
“But I know what I signed up for. I just look at it as the bigger picture. I am having fun. I’m glad to be busy and enjoying it at the same time.”
But Katja added co-hosting the Six O’clock Show with Brian Dowling is like “laughter therapy” for her. She said: “Like it’s a fun thing to be busy with. But yeah, it’s madness. I love also working on the Six O’clock Show. It is almost like a laughter therapy for me.
“Myself and Brian just have the best craic so I wouldn’t even want to miss it. I just try to squeeze it all in where I can.”
Katja added she would love to see her boyfriend Guinness Guru Daragh Curran take part in the show if the series returns next year.
She revealed: “We barely see each other anymore. We barely even keep time away for date night but he is there, like he is the biggest support and he knew how much work this would be and how time consuming it would be.
“He’s been the best cheerleader and like I love that he’s getting his screen time on the telly.
“I feel like he’d be well able [ for the show]. He would have the energy just to bring it, like the thing is all the technical stuff, you kind of learn as you go.
“Ervinas will know once you’re willing and able like he tells you the rest.”
