LET’S GROB THE LOT FOR KLOPP

- PAUL O’HEHIR

BRUCE GROBBELAAR is confident Jurgen Klopp will go out with a bang as Liverpool boss.

And the club’s legendary goalkeeper has predicted Klopp’s players will deliver a volley of silverware for the outgoing German.

Klopp stunned the football world last week by revealing he will step down as Reds boss this summer, after nine years in charge.

But before then, league leaders Liverpool are targeting a quadruple of Premier League, Europa League, FA Cup and Carabao

Cup glory.

Grobbelaar won six league titles, three FA Cups, three League

Cups and a European Cup during a brilliant 13-year spell at Anfield.

And he said: “Klopp is going but that doesn’t mean he won’t give 100 per cent before then, because we’re in every single cup and we’re in the league, so let’s go out with a bang.

“There are four or five captains at Liverpool who have all said ‘let’s win every game for Jurgen and send him off on a high’.

“I can’t see why they would need any more motivation. If the captains are telling the players ‘let’s go and do it’, you are going to do it.”

Grobbelaar admits he was shocked by Klopp’s (left) bombshell announcement.

But it’s not the first time he has seen one of the club’s outstanding managers call time on their Liverpool career.

“I was in the dressing room when Kenny Dalglish came in and said he was going to go,” explained Grobbelaar.

“I was there when Bob Paisley said he was going and when Joe Fagan said he was going because of Heysel.

“I think everybody was shocked last week. Some people even cried. It was hard to take.

“But give the man a little bit of a break because management at a club team is the hardest thing you can do.

“Let’s win everything for him. That’s how I’d be putting it to the players.”
