Star plans huge summer gigs at pop-up stadium in Germany
ADELE has thrilled fans by announcing summer shows in a pop-up 80,000-capacity stadium.
The superstar singer, 35, will take to the stage in a bespoke open-air arena in Munich, Germany, for four nights in August.
Her first gigs in mainland Europe since 2016 will begin just weeks after the final of Euro 2024 in Germany and coincide with the Paris Olympics.
Adele finishes her Las Vegas residency on June 15, having also played two huge Hyde Park shows in 2022.
The Someone Like You singer said: “So a few months ago, I got a call about a summer run of shows.
“I’ve been content as anything with my shows in London’s Hyde Park and my residency in Vegas, so I hadn’t had any other plans.
“However, I was too curious to not follow up and indulge in this idea – a one-off, bespoke pop-up stadium designed around whatever show I want to put on?
“Pretty much slap-bang in the middle of Europe? In Munich? That’s a bit random but still fabulous! Right after the Euros? Come on, England!
“With the Olympics next door? Go on, Simone! And some of my favourite artists playing shows too?
“I haven’t played in Europe since 2016! I couldn’t think of a more wonderful way to spend my summer and end this beautiful phase of my life than with shows closer to home. Guten Tag, babes.”
The concerts will be held at Munich Messe on August 2, 3, 9 and 10.
Just days ago Adele, who has won 16 Grammy awards, teased another tour was on the way when she has a new album out. But after releasing fourth album 30 in 2021, she admitted it will be a while until she writes another.
She told her audience at Vegas’s Caesars Palace on Saturday: “I don’t think I’m gonna write an album for quite some time. But next time I do, I’ll come to wherever it is you live.”
Ticket registration is open at adele.com until February 5, before general sale begins on February 9.
