Mcsweeney returns for season two
Farrell looks unrecognisable as The Penguin for spin-off TV series starring superhero villain
Extraordinary
DERRY Girls star Siobhan Mcsweeney is set to return in the second series of Disney + award winning comedy Extraordinary.
The streaming giant has just revealed first look images as a trailer for the highly anticipated second series.
Season two picks up where season one spectacularly left off, following Jen (Mairead Tyers) on her powers journey as she enrols as a client at the power clinic.
Mcsweeney and Robbie Gee will be returning in season two as Mary and Ian, Jen’s mum and stepdad.
New cast this season includes Julian Barrett as George, Jen’s power coach at the Discovery Clinic and Kwaku Mills as Clark.
COLIN Farrell looks completely unrecognisable as he again transforms into Batman villain The Penguin.
The Dublin actor, 47, wore layers of prosthetics to help him achieve the look of the bulky and bald superhero enemy.
Filming in New York city, Farrell transformed into Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot for a US spin-off TV show revolving around the iconic DC Comics mobster.
The dad-of-two is at the forefront as viewers watch The Penguin’s rise to power in Gotham City’s
criminal underworld.
Filming began in March 2023 but due to the Writers Guild of America strike, filming and production were suspended. In November, work started back up again but it is now almost a year since Colin was last seen as The Penguin.
New snaps of the actor as Oswald show him standing in the middle of a misty set in the Big Apple while donning oversized clothes that appear to be covered in dirt and dust.
A hefty amount of facial prosthetics alter the shape and appearance of his features to give him multiple chins and pock-marked skin.
The Banshees of Inisherin star is also sporting a heavy set frame and receding hairline to complete the look of the iconic villain.
For those not in the know, Colin’s role of Cobblepot, who becomes The Penguin, is a disfigured crimelord and the former chief lieutenant of the late crime boss Carmine Falcone, who will soon become a criminal kingpin in his own right.
The series, which will stream on Max, is a spin-off from the 2022 hit movie The Batman – a much darker and grittier production than the usual superhero movie.
