compared to what you have to put up with chemotherapy.”

Lisa’s funeral will be held on Tuesday morning in the Church of St. John the Evangelist, Ballinteer.

She is survived by her parents Des and Eileen, brother Noel and sister Kira. She was predeceased by her brother Paul.

A family notice said: “Lisa’s family would like to offer their sincere gratitude to all the staff at St Vincents Hospital for all their care and support over the years especially all the staff in the Oncology Department.”

It emerged the her Lord of the Dance ex Michael Flatley visited her in St Vincent’s Hospital in Dublin a day before her death.

The couple dated for six years after meeting in Lillies Bordellos on a night out in 1999 and were engaged, before Flatley called off the wedding and married dancer Niamh O’brien months later.

A heartbroken Michael told the Irish Independent: “I visited Lisa in St Vincent’s Hospital yesterday. I spent time with her and also with her family. It’s heartbreaking.

“She was a lovely, caring person. I got the call from her father, Des, early this morning with the news. It’s very, very sad. God rest her soul.”

Lisa once told how she was such a “quiet person” despite her glam lifestyle and that break-ups were “very difficult for her”.

She said: “I was such a private, quiet person, and then to be thrown into the limelight was very daunting for me, I can tell you.

“My break-ups were public. It was very difficult on me, and very difficult on my family. Because my parents and my family would be very quiet as well, and they certainly didn’t like the publicity that came with it.”

Recalling their split, Flatley said in his autobiography: “Marriage was just not on the cards. Ours was never love at first sight.

“Our relationship developed slowly, an on-again, off-again relationship that I felt was all the more true and close for taking so long to find its way.”

Lisa also dated celebrity solicitor Gerald Kean for 10 years. Kean said: “I am absolutely heartbroken and devastated at the news.

“She was a wonderful woman and we shared many great times together.

She was a terrific woman, one of a kind.”

Former Miss World Rosanna Davison was among the hundreds people paying tribute.

She told the Irish Mirror: “I was shocked to see the news today.

“Lisa was always really kind, bubbly, and fun. A really sweet woman. I had great conversations and chats with her over the years.

“We talked a bit about surrogacy and fertility before I had Sophia and she was just a kind, genuine person.

“I think a lot of people are devastated to hear of her shock and her passing. Lisa definitely made an impact on a lot of people’s lives.

“I’m really thinking of her friends and family and all the people who loved her. It’s definitely a sad day for her friends and family.”
