Harry is rushing back to UK

PRINCE Harry’s immediate decision to fly back to be by his ailing father’s side after his cancer diagnosis could signal new hope for this very fractured family.

Ever since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit their royal roles in favour of a new life in the United States, an ever-deepening hole has emerged at the heart of the monarchy.

But now, as the King enters a period of uncertainty with his cancer diagnosis, it is clear new opportunities to wade through the wreckage may present themselves to all parties.

Sources close to the Duke of Sussex have repeatedly stressed to me Harry’s desire to repair relations and find common ground with those he has undoubtedly caused suffering to.

US President Joe Biden told reporters he plans to contact the King. He added: “I’m concerned about him. Just heard about his diagnosis.

I’ll be talking to him, God willing.” Buckingham Palace did not identify the cancer Charles has, although it is not prostate, and gave no sign of when he would return to royal duties.

A source said: “Regrettably, a number of the King’s forthcoming public engagements will have to be rearranged or postponed.

“His Majesty would like to apologise to all those who may be disappointed or inconvenienced as a consequence.”

It is understood the King and Queen’s week-long tour to Canada in May would be under review according to the monarch’s progress with treatment.

But sources said Charles would continue his weekly audiences with the PM throughout his care and will receive government Red
