JAY-Z hit out at the Grammys over his wife Beyonce never winning the top prize.
The rapper, 54, was joined by their girl Blue Ivy, 12, to collect the Dr Dre Global Impact Award for his achievements in music.
Referencing his 42-year-old superstar wife receiving a record 32nd award at last year’s ceremony, he said: “Most Grammys, never won album of the year… that doesn’t work.”
Joni Mitchell, 80, sang her hit Both Sides Now after winning the best folk category for her 2023 live album, Joni Mitchell At Newport (Live).
Also at the ceremony were Ed Sheeran and Kylie Minogue and Miley Cyrus posing with Lionel Richie. chainlink outfit and left audiences gasping as she said “I don’t think I forgot anyone, but I might’ve forgotten underwear” before grinning and bounding off stage.
SZA, who had received nine nominations, won three awards.
She broke down in tears as she accepted the award for Best R&B song.
And Billy Eilish, 22, appeared stunned as she won song of the year for her Barbie The Album ballad What Was I Made For?
She added: “I was in a really dark place, really, really dark place and it’s kind of hard to think back to it.
“But [director] Greta Gerwig came to us. She offered us this lifechanging thing ... we wrote that song in the 24 hours after we saw the movie and we wrote it under two hours, if not one.
“Honestly, from then on we were just creative again. It woke us up and got us back on our thing and it was really special and powerful and I hold it deep, deep and dear to my heart.”
Legend Joni Mitchell, 80, received a standing ovation for her moving debut performance.
The veteran singer performed an emotional rendition of her 1966 classic Both Sides Now from an armchair alongside US singer Brandi Carlile on the guitar.
