UNA Healy said yesterday she was “delighted” to get a quickie divorce – so she could start dating again.
The Saturdays singer split f rom England rugby star Ben Foden in 2018 aft er he admitted he had cheated during their marriage.
Speaking yesterday to Vogue Williams on her Taboo Talk with Boots, mum-of-two Una revealed the first thing she did after splitting from Foden – getting her hair dyed.
She said: “It’s really hard, but to be honest when we decided together we would get divorced very quickly after he admitted he did what he did , we actually were both delighted with his decision because it had been rumbling for a while.
“I actually had a great time. I dyed my hair blonde. I loved it. I went out to LA. Met a fella on Raya. That’s very short lived though. I loved it.
“I will say to anyone though after a divorce – wait [ before getting ] into a relationship with someone so quickly.”
But the Tipperary singer admitted she felt “embarrassed” when she got divorced.
The 42- year- old said: “Literally, I ’d go to the shop and people would be looking at me like ‘ oh there she is’. I had to get away from that because we were a couple in that town. It i s embarrassing. Obviously it was the right thing to do. We needed to split up and divorce. We couldn’t stay together. It was the way it was.
“You always feel li ke you’re being judged by people and you always see the couples and the families and you just feel so lonely because that is not you anymore.”
Una said she had to
“arrange everything” during the divorce because Foden was “lazy”. She added:
“Everything had to be done with the house, I arranged the removals, I did everything. I stayed for a few months before I decided what to do.
“I moved up the road to a d i f f e r e n t c o u n t y i n England but then I ended up moving home.
“But like that as well, I got no help whatsoever… I just think they are so lazy. They just know it is going to be done.
“So that’s why you have to be strong because who else is going to do it then. You have to.”
