DANCING With The Stars contestant Rosanna Davison said she is hoping to break the “model curse” and make it to the final.

The former Miss World, 39, is vying to lift the glitterball trophy this year on the RTE One show.

She added: “I really tried to be myself and let my personality out to connect with the viewers.

“Also, I am a mum and maybe parents out there can relate to the juggle I am going through with looking after small children and dedicating so much time to rehearsals every week.

“It is clear I am really enjoying the process and I am getting better every week. I am having the time of my life.”

Rosanna brought down the house on Sunday when she danced to her father Chris de Burgh’s hit song Lady In Red.

Scoring 26 points for her rumba with her pro partner Stephen Vincent, she said: “I felt overwhelmed. It was a great day, an emotional day.

“Everyone worked so hard to make their dance special because we were dedicating it to our loved ones.

“It felt incredibly special to have my parents there watching me.

“I think the thing people don’t realise about my dad is that he is hilarious. He is a little bit eccentric, but he has a great sense of humour. We have a family group chat and he is the king of the memes.

“He is also the king of selfies, wherever he is in the world he always takes a selfie.

“He loves to have a laugh. He is always happy to slag himself and he doesn’t take himself too seriously.

“That was nice to show off that side of him.”

But Rosanna added she “struggled” this week in rehearsals after husband Wes had to travel to London for three days for a work trip, leaving her to mind their three children.

She said: “I had the kids myself and they decided to party all night. All of them wanted me to sleep in their beds and they were in and out to the room.

“I was exhausted going into rehearsals, so Stephen had to give me pep talks over my worry about how it was all going.

“It is always such rewarding feeling because we are rehearsing 25 hours a week Monday to

a on Saturday and Sunday. To put in the hours and the mental, physical and emotional energy into a routine and to get that feedback, that is what you want. That is what you are working hard for.

“It is non-stop. It can be difficult. “We know that we will have more time together as a family when Dancing With The Stars is done. I am looking forward to that.

“Right now, Wes is incredibly supportive and he takes over on Saturday night and looks after the kids at home that night and on Sundays.

“And he orders me pizza when I get home on Sunday night.”
