SHANE Macgowan’s widow Victoria Mary Clarke has said she felt “lucky” to have met her “soulmate”.

The singer died in hospital last November aged 65 after a long illness.

Writing on Valentine’s Day, Victoria said she felt “really luck” to have a “constant reminder of pure and unconditional love in my husband”.

She added: “A soulmate is anyone who can make you feel love and who opens your heart to the beauty and the joy of the world.

“A true soulmate will ultimately help you to connect with your own soul by shining their light so brightly that your connection with universal love is sparked up and you are reminded of your timeless and eternal beautiful soul inside of you. Every time you look at your soulmate you see the love and joy of their soul shining through and you feel joyful.

“He was able to influence me to find my own soul connection and to feel the love for him but also to feel love for everything and for life itself.

Valentine’s Day is all about romance and romantic love and that is a magical and beautiful thing and we always celebrated it and bought each other flowers.

“Now he has moved on up to the higher dimensions, I miss being able to do Valentine’s Day .

“But I can’t forget that love itself never dies and you can always tune in to it and feel the joy and appreciation for your soul connection even through the tears! Love to everyone today.”

On Tuesday, Victoria shared a video of Shane, writing on X: “I feel like an absolute blubbering wreck today and it’s not even Valentine’s yet!”
