REDS’ ERIK WANTS TO KEEP GOOD VIBE GOING

- BY CHRIS MCKENNA

ERIK TEN HAG has challenged his players to keep the growing feel-good factor at the club going as ambitious INEOS stamp their authority.

The Manchester United boss wants the players to maintain their form on the field as the club’s new investors continue to build off it.

They are already bringing in Omar Berrada as CEO from Manchester City while they are also expected to land

Dan Ashworth as sporting director from Newcastle United.

Ashworth’s impending arrival has come in the days following the Premier League rubberstamping Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s purchase of 25 percent of the club.

Ten Hag (below) admits he is not being consulted on the changes of the sporting structure but believes INEOS are improving the mood among his Reds squad.

United have turned around their form on the pitch recently as they are unbeaten in 2024 so far, with three Premier League wins in a row against Wolves, West Ham and Aston Villa.

That has given them a chance of qualifying for next season’s Champions League as they look to continue their run against Luton on Sunday.

Ten Hag said: “I think everything is always aligned with each other.

“We are a club, we are not an isolated department, the first team, but for the mood of the club it is very important that the first team is performing.”

Ten Hag believes you can always improve as the revamps continue and he will need the right support to succeed to ensure everyone at the club is “aligned”. He said: “I am happy but a club like Manchester United also have to look for better, never be satisfied, good is not good enough, always looking for better and always try to do better than the day before.”

Ten Hag confirmed Luke Shaw is a doubt for the trip to Kenilworth Road after he was taken off at half-time last weekend against Aston Villa as a precaution.
