OPERATION Transformation leader Michelle Rogan told how the show has been “life-changing” and put the spark back in her relationship.

The 36-year-old Dubliner, who lives in Kilmessan, Co Meath, faces her final weigh-in after eight gruelling weeks on the RTE One programme tonight.

Speaking to us, Michelle said: “I felt it was eight very short weeks.

“It flew by. The first four weeks, the adrenaline is there and then by the remainder of the weeks just fly by.

“It has [changed my life]. It has given me ‘Michelle’ back. I can’t explain the feeling until you’re in the situation.

“The other leaders will know how I feel. It is lifechanging.”

Michelle said she will never go back to her old self,

DELIGHTED Michelle adding: “This is my life now. There is no going back to the way I was before the last eight weeks. I’m so determined. “From week two, we [David and I] had a different relationship again. We were teenagers again. It was like that first few dates.

“The spark was back, and we were spending time with each other because obviously when you have kids, you put them first. And when you’ve three kids,

you’re nearly afraid to ask for babysitters because you don’t want to be putting people under pressure.

“It’s realising that after the kids leave the house, it’s us two again so we have to keep the relationship, the spark alight.”

Michelle praised David as her “rock” through her OT journey, adding: “He’s been beside me doing everything with me and instead of me taking over everything and doing everything, I had to hand it over to him.

“It’s to put the trust in the partner as well and stop taking it all on you because they can do it.”

Michelle said she never applied for OT to lose weight but instead to help cure her health anxiety. She and her family were left devastated after the sudden death of her sister Elizabeth five years ago from a heart attack.

Her sister’s death caused Michelle to become anxious over her own health. She added: “I would get a pain in my chest and I thought I was having a heart attack – that is how bad my anxiety around my health was.”

The 36-year-old told how she was so happy she took part in the show, saying the crew became part of her family.

Michelle is a busy mum of three children, Danny, 10, Layal, 11 and 18-month-old Sam.

The finale of Operation Transformation, hosted by Kathryn Thomas, airs tonight on RTE One at 9.35pm.
