Kylie rip-off criticism no Boyther to star George
Boy George & Kylie
BOY George has spoken out after being accused of “ripping off” Kylie Minogue.
The musician came under fire on social media after fans had noticed the similarities between the artwork for his single Religion and Kylie’s latest album Tension.
Despite the criticism Boy George, 62, doesn’t appear to be bothered by the backlash.
In both Boy George and Minogue’s artwork, their faces have been tinted green while posing in front of a red and yellow background, with the same font also used.
Minogue, 55, released Tension last year, compared to Boy George whose single came out just last week.
One fan went as far as to question the former I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! star about his decision to pay “tribute” to Kylie’s artwork on X, formerly Twitter.
Boy George responded: “I’m recycling everything. It’s all the rage. Even fashion is catching on?”
But when one social media user branded him an “a ***** e”, he instantly quipped back: “Or utter genius!”
Another furious fan of Aussie pop princess Kylie penned: “I know that every masterpiece has its cheap copy but what the hell is this?” 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
