KIEFFER HAS GIVEN US SO MUCH MORE

- BY MATT BAMSEY

CAMERON BURGESS believes the arrival of goal ace Kieffer Moore has got Ipswich’s promotion push back on track.

Moore (above) netted his fifth goal in seven games since moving to Portman Road on loan from Bournemouth.

Moore’s fierce close-range volley sealed a fifth straight win for Ipswich, who leapfrogged Leeds into second spot.

Defender Burgess said: “Kieffer has been massive for us.

“He has contributed really well in terms of goals and build-up play and is a real big part of what we do.

“He is a really good guy and has fitted into the group tremendously.

“It is brilliant to have him here and hopefully he can play a big part until the end of the season.

“He has got a lot of experience and he adds a lot to the group.”

Brendan Galloway deflected Conor Chaplin’s shot past Conor Hazard before Moore buried the second to seal a 10th away win.

Ipswich have bounced back from just one win in nine games to record their best run in the Championship since 2003.

Having scored 15 goals in their last five league games, it has moved them to within three points of leaders Leicester.

Burgess added: “Football is random at times and we have stuck to our guns and carried on doing what we are good at.

“There is still a long way to go and there will be plenty of twists and turns.

“The fans turned up in their numbers again and it is nice to see smiles on their faces.”

Three home defeats on the spin have left Plymouth just two points clear of the drop zone.

Pilgrims winger Mickel Miller said: “It is annoying not to come away with anything. We have had a tough run of games but we won’t let our heads drop.

“If we stick together, we are more than capable of beating a lot of teams in this league.

“We have got enough to get over the line and I am sure we will be alright.”
