Sex symbol star ditches her makeup
Actress Pamela Anderson has stripped off her makeup to look natural and challenge ideas of beauty. The Baywatch star and former Playboy model, 56, wants to “flip the script” on the beauty industry because getting fully made-up every day means “you lose yourself ”.
Five-times married Pamela, who became a 1990s sex symbol as CJ Parker in the US beach series, now spends far less time getting ready.
She says: “It’s like you spend half your life in a makeup chair in this industry.
“A lot of great friends are makeup and hair stylists, and those are all important people in these dreams that we’re all creating for magazines and movies. But, for every day, you lose yourself.
“So it’s nice to challenge yourself and not fall into all that madness. I create my own kind of madness.”
She wore no makeup at autumn’s Paris Fashion Week shows but insisted it was no act of “rebellion”.
She tells CR Fashion Book: “I think I was doing it for me. I just didn’t want to get into the whole glam thing and play the game.
“I just want to flip the script, to challenge beauty.”

she had with first husband, Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee. She says: “Even my kids were like: ‘Mom, you can’t, you need the glam team!’” She told them: “‘The fact you guys are saying that makes me not want to do it more. I’m going to do a fresh face, no makeup, not pretend no makeup.’ And I just felt free.
“No one looked at me and went, ‘Aggghhhh!’”
She thinks her statement is important in a social media age where young girls filter their online images.
Pamela says that fashion and film is fantasy and escapism, and she felt “it’s OK to just be. And more interesting.
“I found it resonated. And I’m glad that it had a positive
HIT As Baywatch’s CJ message.” Last year, the star told her tale in the documentary Pamela, a Love Story.
It was a response to Pam & Tommy, a mini-series about their relationship and split after the theft and leaking of their sex tape. After that, Pamela turned to philanthropy and highlighted such issues as cruelty to animals.
Canadian Pamela lives in Vancouver in a property that her grandparents owned.
She believes she has returned to a natural and spiritual place. “I remember the ‘nature bible’ that we always referred to, and DIY creams and things like that have always been around.
“It’s kind of in fashion where, before,
I was trying to make sustainable products, people looked at me like I was crazy.”
She lived at the home with fifth husband Dan Hayhurst, a contractor. They married in 2020 and announced their divorce in 2022.
