Rooney reflects on Vardy libel battle
COLEEN Rooney says she feels she has got closure following her highly public clash with Rebekah Vardy and the Wagatha Christie court case.
wife of ex-england striker Wayne referred to the saga at a lunch event to mark International Women’s Day yesterday.
In 2019, Coleen, 37, accused the fellow WAG of leaking stories about her. Rebekah, 42, wife of footballer Jamie, lost her High Court libel case over the claim in 2022.
During a Q&A with presenter Sheree Murphy,
Coleen said: “I feel closure now. I did the day we stepped out of court.”
Asked why she did the

Story, she said: “Everyone had their opinion and thought they knew what was going on, but they didn’t.
It was my story to tell and I thought it was my time to say how it was and put it to bed.” Mum-of-four Coleen also said being organised was the key to managing her busy life.
“A combination of our four boys, work, exercise and everyday jobs means not everything always goes to plan and some days are crazy and very hectic,” she said.
“That’s just life… I try to stay positive and everything seems to work out in the end!”
At the event in Manchester, Coleen was also asked who inspired her, and said: “The people in this room. I’m fortunate to know a lot of good, everyday people.”
Other WAGS at the event included Kaya Jones and Hayley Fletcher, the wives of former Manchester United players Phil Jones and Darren Fletcher, and Kim Hart, the wife of ex-manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart.
Also speaking at the Harvey Nichols event was former Real Housewives of Cheshire star Nermina Pieters-mekic, who is battling breast cancer. Organiser Julie Perry, who planned Coleen’s wedding to Wayne, said: “I am so pleased to be able to bring so many inspirational women together in celebration of each other.”
