CAT: WE ARE THE CREAM!

Macario says: We’re going for all FOUR

- EVERTON CHELSEA BY JON WEST

CAT MACARIO admits Chelsea are eyeing an historic trophy quadruple after her goal sealed an FA Cup semi-final spot.

The forward came off the bench to down Everton, who gave Emma Hayes’ side a run for their money.

WSL leaders Chelsea are already in the League Cup final and the Champions League last eight.

Hayes said after the Prenton Park cup clash she was “not thinking” about matching Arsenal’s four-trophy sweep of 2007.

But USA star Macario let the cat out of the bag as far as the players were concerned.

She said: “That’s the goal. That’s the Chelsea standard but at the end of the day we have to take it day by day and game by game and do our job every single day and go from there.”

Macario netted three minutes after her second-half introduction, sweeping home Aggie Beever-jones’ cutback in the 66th minute.

It was also her second goal in as many games since making her belated Blues debut last week.

Macario was still recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury when she signed last summer.

She said: “It’s my second game and I’m very happy to have scored and to be contributing to the win and making a good impact on the team. It feels amazing and I hope to keep that form going.”

Macario also praised Beever-jones for setting her up for the winner. She said: “Honestly it was all Aggie.

“She just made a run and was tremendous in getting rid of her marker and all I had to do was tap it in really. That was the easy part.”

Everton had the better early chances with Kathrine Kuhl twice forcing Blues keeper Zecira Musovic into saves.

Jelena Cankovic wasted a decent Chelsea chance before Macario was deployed as one of four second-half substitutions.

The Toffees responded to falling behind, with Katja Snoeijs inches away from a leveller.
