PEAKY Blinders director Steve Knight has announced a major new Netflix drama centred on Ireland’s most famous dynastic family.
Set in 19th-century Dublin and New York, House of Guinness will focus on the consequences of the death of Benjamin Guinness, the man responsible for the extraordinary success of the Guinness brewery.
The story will feature the far-reaching impact of his cunning will on the fate of his four adult children, Arthur, Edward, Anne and Ben, as well as on a group of Dublin characters who work for and interact with Guinness.
Speaking about the new drama, Knight said: “The Guinness dynasty is known the world over – wealth, poverty, power, influence and great tragedy are all intertwined to create a rich tapestry of material to draw from.

“I’ve always been fascinated by their stories and am excited to bring the characters to life for the world to see.”
Filming for the eightpart series is due to begin this summer.

“It has all the power of Peaky Blinders but the scale and the sweep of a true family saga.”
Knight’s latest project was revealed at Netflix’s slate launch in London last night.
It also announced it will be bringing Marian Keyes’ bestselling novel Grown Ups to the screen as an ensemble family drama.
Marian said: “I screamed when I got this news! It’s thrilling that See-saw and Netflix are bringing Grown Ups to the screen.
“I’ve loved the treatment and scripts that I’ve seen. I’m overjoyed.”
