Another two years for rapist Murray.. as he issues even more delusional threats

Prisoner, 54, called in bomb hoax

NOTORIOUS rapist Michael Murray issued bizarre new threats as he was further jailed over a hoax bomb threat against the Justice Minister.

Deluded Murray, 54, who was already facing a lengthy jail stint until 2036, was sentenced to a further two years in prison yesterday.

A jury had convicted him of making a sinister false bomb threat call to the Samaritans directed against Helen Mcentee from his prison cell in May 2021.

Now it can be revealed that Murray put the State through a gruelling week-long trial after pleading not guilty, despite openly admitting to gardai to being behind the bomb threat and before that, numerous times to this very paper back in August 2021.

In fact Murray doubled down multiple times when interviewed by us from prison that month, telling us: “I am admitting to it openly. I’m responsible for it, and I’ll go after them again.”

And today we can also reveal a bizarre new letter, handed to this reporter by Murray during his trial, in which he appears to make further nonsense threats.

In the letter, Murray references the so-called Criminal Revenge Group – a cohort of jailed criminals that his trial heard he claimed existed from behind bars.

The strange letter, which references an apparent code word, claims that if there are “future attacks” in Donegal, Dublin or Sligo, that the “CRG” would be responsible.

“Code word for your paper, and for any future attacks south or north by [CRG],” Murray wrote.

“Shooting-donegal, devicedublin, petrol bombing-sligo, building etc.”

FAME

However, now it can be revealed that although gardai had to treat Murray’s bomb threat claim seriously by calling to Ms Mcentee’s home and searching her property, officers never truly believed the deluded criminal had the ability to carry out such threats.

A source said: “This was all about putting on the

Michael Murray show. He wanted his 15 minutes of fame.

“The reality is he is serving a lengthy sentence and he has nothing better to do than to do things like this. He’s got a grievance with the Department of

Justice and he felt this was his way to highlight that.

“But with these things, they of course have to be treated seriously, and the right protocols were followed to ensure the Minister’s safety.”

While officers did not find any bombs and did not believe Murray had the capacity to carry out such threats, he is nonetheless a serious criminal with over 40 convictions to his name, including rape, sexual assault, harrassment, abduction of a child, false imprisonment, threats to kill barristers, burglary and theft.

Asked if she wished to say anything now that the matter has concluded, Ms Mcentee declined to comment yesterday.

Sources say officers never sought to introduce our exclusive interview with Murray, in which he openly admitted to being behind the crime, into evidence, because the criminal ultimately told gardai himself that he was responsible for it – days later.

Murray met with gardai in Portlaoise Prison on August 9, five days after confessing to us, and he then told officers he was behind the threat and that he just wanted the “bull **** ” to end.

Despite that Murray ultimately put everyone through torment by refusing to ultimately plead guilty – meaning a jury had to be sworn in – and a lengthy trial process had to occur.

In our interview, conducted on August 4, 2021, Murray told us from his jail cell that there would even be “more plots” against the Minister.

We asked him if he was openly admitting to making the hoax call, which was made to the Samaritans from the Midlands Prison on May 7 that year, Murray again confirmed.

He said: “I am responsible for it, yeah.” We put it to Murray at the time that what he was admitting was very serious, to which he said, “I don’t give a f*** Paul, at the end of the day there’s nothing more serious than what they done to me.”

He even accepted that he would be charged over the matter.

He said: “Listen, it is what it is. At the end of the day, these are the people that were responsible for their actions. Know what I mean?

“At the end of the day she is responsible for the Department of Justice. There’s no point going to the people who are playing a game all the time.”

Shocked at the fact that he was openly admitting to a crime, we again asked Murray to confirm that he was doing so.

He said: “100% yeah. And that’s on the record yeah. The code I quoted was Red October .... a sunday night at ten o’clock, her house. “A device at the back

gate of the house.”

He’s got nothing better to do than stuff like this SOURCE
