Gorka Marquez shares big family news with Anton Du Beke and Giovanni Pernice in the second series of their BBC One travel show.
In Anton and Giovanni’s Adventures in Spain, the follow-up to their jaunt in Sicily, the dad of two tells his fellow Strictly stars that he is planning to have the snip.
Gorka, 33, and his fiancee Gemma Atkinson, 39, who he met on the BBC ballroom show, have decided their family is complete after having Mia, four, and eight-month-old Thiago.
Asked by Anton whether he and Gemma would like a third child, he replies: “No, I’m done at two, I’m booking for the snap.”
Anton jokes: “That’s quite dramatic, generally a little snip would be enough.” Gorka also admits he hasn’t yet got “stuck in” to the late nights of baby care as he has been away filming.
He recently accepted a job as a judge on the Spanish version of Strictly Come Dancing.
His new role on the show – which airs in January – requires him to fly to Madrid every Sunday during the series.
Gemma has previously said they are fine in spite of spending large amounts of time apart. She told Lorraine Kelly: “I get that people find it strange that we are apart a lot but that’s how it’s been ever since we met.
“I know between August and Christmas, and Gorka knows, that he doesn’t know where he is going to be.
“Because I’ve done Strictly, it’s not a shock to me. You don’t want to be so dependent on each other that you can’t do anything without them.
“What’s great about me and Gorka is that on his own he’s great, on my own I’m great, but together it’s unstoppable.”
