THE DREAD KENNEDYS

JOHN KENNEDY last night insisted fit-and-firing Celtic are ready for Rangers.

The Parkhead side will blast into Sunday’s blockbuster crunch at the top of the table after a convincing 3-0 win over Livingston.

Strikes from Paulo Bernardo and Matt O’riley added to a Jamie Brandon own goal to give the champions a comprehensive triumph in West Lothian.

Fit again Reo Hatate was the star of the show on his return as Brendan Rodgers’ side restored their one-point lead and can now extend it to four with a victory at Ibrox.

Assistant boss Kennedy says the squad is raring to go and, asked if Celtic are in good shape for the Ibrox showdown, stated: “Yes, I think we are, if you look at the way we’re attacking and our control, especially today. It’s like any other game. We just have to approach it the same as we have done and not get involved in the emotional side.

“Sometimes that can be a burden, so for us it’s about focusing on our training and making sure we’re prepared.”

Kennedy insists the squad is being boosted with the return of injured players such as

Callum Mcgregor is also in line for a comeback at Ibrox return and the Celtic No2 (below) continued: “Our attacking game has really clicked the last little while, especially with having the front players and even Nic [Kuhn] coming into the equation.

“Initially he had a period off, he came in kind of unfit but you can see he’s now up to speed and Yang’s back from suspension. We’ve now got options.

“It’s not just the starting players, it’s what comes in behind that.

“We basically changed the front three [at Livingston] and the second front three was still strong. We’ve got lots of options and everybody will contribute.

“The injuries have hampered us but the squad are looking good.”
