in the last few minutes. The team is not showing in the last few months the capacity to be solid and not concede – and that is painful.

“We are scoring more goals, but we are conceding more too.”

Chelsea were similarly denied victory at home to struggling Burnley recently and Pochettino said: “For some reason we struggle to compete in these games.

“We are working to fix this problem. We will try and add people with this capacity to our squad.”

Pochettino refused to be drawn on the future of 39-year-old goalscorer Silva beyond this season.

He said: “At the moment, we are not talking about the future of the players in the squad.”

Blades boss Wilder could not hide his pride after a battling display was capped by Mcburnie’s late leveller.

Wilder (top) said: “I’ve got to say that everybody in the ground would have been incredibly disappointed had we not got something from that game.

“After the Liverpool game on Thursday night, we looked a bit one-paced.

“The reaction after the first 15 minutes was good and I’m delighted with the last 75 to 80 minutes.

“We also had two good performances against Fulham and Bournemouth,

“We’re slightly disappointed that we’ve not got a couple more points from those performances.

“But I can’t fault my players. We all know the intensity of the division and we move on to Brentford next week.

“The belief will hopefully be good, the players have shown a lot of qualities.

“The performance of the players today ignited the crowd and the crowd lifted the players when it was needed.”
