MILLION MANHOEF wants to contribute more to Stoke’s survival bid after scoring his first goal for the club.

Steven Schumacher’s side came from two goals behind to rescue a point against promotionchasing West Brom.

Celtic loanee Mickey Johnston and Jed Wallace fired the Baggies 2-0 up before Manhoef (above) and Andre Vidigal – from the rebound after his penalty was saved – salvaged a draw.

The Potters are now four points clear of the drop zone.

“When you don’t score for the first six or seven games it gets in your head,” said Dutch striker Manhoef, who made the move from Vitesse Arnhem in January.

“Hopefully it can only get better from here.

“I was happy to get my first (goal) and hopefully I can squeeze out more.

“I’m getting better the longer I’m here. The goals and assists have to be more.

“I can be an important player in terms of goals and assists.

“I missed a big chance in the first half, so it was nice to make up for that.”

It was another precious point in the bid to avoid the drop for the Potters.

And with a trip to Swansea ahead in midweek, Manhoef added: “It’s a big, big game on Wednesday. We need to keep pushing forward because other teams around us also win as well.”

Carlos Corberan’s West Brom stretched their unbeaten run to nine games.

But it was a case of two points dropped as their cushion in the play-off race was cut to six.

The Baggies boss said: “If there’s frustration in the dressing room, I like to see that.

“At this stage of the season every point counts and you want to add three to your tally.

“It’s a pity we didn’t get them, but it’s a point closer to our target.”
