Rallying call to women: Run the Mini Miarathon
TV host urges females to step up and pound the pavements
TV star Katja Mia is urging as many females as possible to do the Women’s Mini Marathon this year – to get fit and help good causes.
The model and social media influencer, 27, has been busy pounding the pavements ahead of the event in six weeks’ time.
Katja revealed she is half way through her training programme and is enjoying getting the exercise in.
As part of her preparations, the Dancing With The Stars contestant will lace up her runners for the Marlay 5km parkrun on Saturday.
Organisers are encouraging women across Ireland to attend their local parkrun and walk, jog or run the 5km route.
The event can act as part of their preparation for the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon which takes place on June 2 in Dublin.

Katja said: “I can’t believe we are just over six weeks away from race day.
“At the halfway point of our training, the Vhi Wellness Day at Marlay parkrun is great opportunity for all those training for the event, to complete a 5km.
“I am really looking forward to what promises to be a fun and informative morning and would love to see plenty of women who are taking part in this year’s Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon, join me on the 5km route together.”
Runners on Saturday will also be joined by Vhi ambassador and Olympian David Gillick, who will kick off the day at 9.30am leading a warm up.
Participants are invited to join Teamvhi in the wellness tent afterwards where there will be a cool down session led by physiotherapists, advice from health experts and complimentary healthy drinks and snacks.
