TWO teenagers appeared in court yesterday charged with the murder of Josip Strok who died after an alleged assault earlier this month.

Anthony Delappe, 18, and 19-year-old Connor Rafferty were before Judge Maire Conneely at Blanchardstown District Court yesterday.

Rafferty of Castlegrange Close in Clondalkin was the first to appear, he wore a grey and black North Face tracksuit. Garda Patrick Fallon gave evidence of arrest, charge, and caution.

Garda Fallon said the accused was arrested at Ballyfermot Garda Station at 10.05pm and was charged by Sergeant Stephen Walsh at 10.27pm. Delappe, of

Melrose Avenue, wore a navy tracksuit during his appearance.

Garda Barry O’shea gave evidence of arrest, charge, and caution.

He said Delappe was arrested at 8.50pm on Thursday and charged by Sgt Walsh at 9.49pm. Neither made a reply when they were charged or spoke during yesterday’s appearance.

Both were also charged with assault causing harm to David Druzinec, who was Mr Strok’s friend who was injured during the same incident.

Mr Strok, 31, suffered head injuries after an incident at Grange View Way in Clondalkin on March 30.

On April 3, Mr Strok, who was from Croatia, died of his injuries in Tallaght Hospital.

Rafferty, who was represented by Luke Staines, said his client would apply for bail on the assault charge at his next court appearance.

Delappe, who was represented by Valerie Buckley, said her client would do the same. Both men were remanded in custody and will appear before Cloverhill District Court on May 2.
