DON’T get Caught out in the bet365 Gold Cup.

The stamina test thrown up by Sandown’s end-of-season marathon chase won’t suit all the runners but it looks ideal for WEVEALLBEENCAUGHT (3.35).

Nigel Twiston-davies’ novice always looked likely to thrive in staying chases. He kicked off over fences with a debut third behind top-class hurdler Flooring Porter and smart stablemate Broadway Boy at Cheltenham in October.

His subsequent form has not been as good but the wet winter has meant he’s been running on softer ground than ideal.

Conditions will be more to his liking today and he ran well for a long way when finishing sixth behind Chianti Classico in the Ultima Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.

The way he got outpaced coming down the hill suggests the step up to 3m5f for the first time will be right up his street.

This promising juvenile was only eighth in the Boodles Handicap Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival but he was first home of the British-trained runners.

That could be considered a disappointing finishing position considering the way he travelled through the race but the heavy ground was clearly too testing for him.

There’s every chance he will last a lot longer on the better going. Have 2pts each-way at 16-1. Sky Bet is again going seven places.

He ran a solid race when fourth in a hot Newbury contest the following month and he now returns to 2m4f.

It should suit him better as he improved when stepped up to this trip a couple of seasons ago.

Have 2pts each-way at 25-1. Plenty of bookies are paying out on five places.
