A GROUNDBREAKING DISCOVERY..

-

There’s plenty of drama in Carrigstown this week following on from the discovery of a body in the community garden.

And there’s one person who seems to be the prime suspect as to who did it.

This week, Buckley’s got the preliminary findings — which suggest the body is a female, and her time of death was in the last three months — and decides to order another search of the scene, just to make sure they didn’t miss anything.

Tommy tells Derabhla how he’d told Buckley that Zak had worked the area of land a few months earlier — but Deabrhla is adamant that Zak couldn’t have been involved.

In fact, she insists it is simply that Tommy’s in shock.

Mairead, meanwhile, warns Carol that she shouldn’t accuse Zak without any concrete evidence. However, that doesn’t stop Carol from trying to convince Sash that Zak’s the killer — but Sash doesn’t believe what she’s saying.

And things get even more complicated when another Carrigstown resident hears the accusation, and is left horrified.

Later on, Dearbhla tells Tommy that him hiding away from the town’s gossip isn’t doing any good — and it’s not the answer.

And as the rumour mill continues to go into overdrive, she reaches out to Zak and tells him that he should return and set the story straight.

Sash leads the united group against Carol, asking and pleading with her to stop spreading the rumour.

And it looks like there’s a break in the case, as Buckley is encouraged when the forensics help to narrow down the age and time of death of the woman. Ronan appreciates Georgie’s reverence for the victim but remains annoyed by his constant mining for information.

Georgie and Sharon suspect there’s been a development when they witness a squad car speeding to the crime scene.

An excited Ronan reports that a handbag has been retrieved at the crime scene.

Buckley is unimpressed when the handbag fails to identify the woman.

Sharon urges Georgie to be more respectful of Ronan’s boundaries and the pair are intrigued when Ray reveals that new evidence has been discovered.

Georgie apologises to Ronan for pestering him and invites him for a drink to mend fences.

Georgie opens up to Ronan, admitting that he doesn’t have any close friends.

And an equally candid Ronan reveals that Buckley is keeping a close eye on him during this investigation due to a past mistake.
