No talks while Putin in power

NO PANIC IT’S VLAD’S ARMY

-

RUSSIA is turning to its very own “Vlad’s Army” as more potential military recruits flee the country.

Vladimir Putin’s conscript army of reservists appears to resemble the Home Guard gang from Dad’s Army, as the Kremlin continues to suffer heavy losses.

Huge tailbacks have formed as thousands attempt to cross the Russian border to escape the military draft.

And the latest reports indicate huge numbers of civilians are now being forcibly mobilised, including the elderly.

In the town of Krasnoslobodsk, in the Volgograd region, a 63-yearold man with diabetes and a risk of strokes was drafted as part of the mobilisation, it was said.

Before his retirement, he was the deputy commander of a military unit which was in charge of logistics.

He was drafted into the war with the promise that he would solely be “assisting the military enlistment office”.

Classic BBC sitcom Dad’s Army focused on the Home Guard during the Second World War, airing from 1968 to 1977.

The theme song was Who Do You Think You Are Kidding, Mr Hitler?

UKRAINE’S leader has ruled out peace talks with Russia while Vladimir Putin remains in office.

President Zelenskyy said more military and cash aid must follow Russia’s annexation of land.

Western officials think President Putin is starting to realise the “colossal mistake” he made in invading Ukraine, with signs that his power may be weakened.

Kremlin-installed leaders of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk and Luhansk called on Putin to make the areas part of Russia as sham polls claimed an unlikely 97 per cent of people were in favour.

Mr Zelenskyy called it a “Crimea scenario”.
