Shot’ at a Tigers revival!

- ■■Ian MURTAGH

UNDER-PRESSURE Hull boss Shota Arveladze is facing trial by TV tonight as his out-of-sorts side face Luton in front of the cameras.

Arveladze’s ninemonth reign looked to be over when the Tigers crashed to a woeful 3-0 defeat at Swansea a fortnight ago.

It was Hull’s fourth successive loss — a run which saw them leak 11 goals, finding the net just once themselves.

Areladze was not expected to survive the international break but lives to fight another day.

“The break is always good because it gives you time,” he said.

“Time to analyse and to assess and for the players, it gives them a little bit of rest after a heavy schedule.”

Slump

Skipper Lewis Coyle insists despite the recent slump, the dressing room remains upbeat.

“We’re disappointed and know the standards have been nowhere where we want to be.

“That’s not something we take lightly but the one thing we have is a great togetherness.

“We are all pulling in the same direction.”

Meanwhile, Luton chief Nathan Jones says he’d be an idiot to underestimate the threat posed by Hull.

“I see Hull as another tough Championship game,” Jones said. “They’ve got a striker who’s the top scorer in the league.

“It’s a tough place to go, we’ve had to be really good to win.

“We’ve won the last two up there and I’d like to make that three, but it will be a totally different game to last year and a totally different one to when Grant McCann was in charge.

“I’d be an idiot to say anything different.

“(Jean Michael) Seri won the league last year with Fulham and Ryan Woods has been about the Championship for years, I had him at Stoke. They’ve spent money, so we won’t underestimate them.”
