TIKTOK star and social media influencer Miriam Mullins is “in talks” to be a contestant on Dancing With The Stars, The Star can reveal.

The Cork native (26) is believed to have been approached by RTE bosses to take part in next year’s glitzy show.

Miriam, who moved home to Garryvoe from Florida before the pandemic, has amassed almost two million followers on TikTok and 110k on Instagram. A TV insider said: “Miriam has a huge following online and bosses are confident she’ll draw in a younger audience to the show.”

But a spokesman for RTE declined to comment about whether or not Miriam could be part of next year’s class of 2023. Miriam’s rep was also contacted by The Star but no response was forthcoming. The Cork star previously told how she would love to do more TV – especially Dancing With The Stars. She said last month: “I love live TV, so I’d love to do something like Dancing with the Stars. You get to learn new skills, you’re learning how to dance, and it’s live TV. So I would love to do that.”

Trolls

Miriam is a full time influencer, creating content on several platforms. She creates comedy sketch videos, vlogs and lifestyle content.

She made her TV debut on the Late Late Show with Ryan Tubridy last year.

But Miriam has also revealed that she has received a lot of online hate from trolls.

When she was deciding whether to pursue social media as a career, Miriam considered how lonely and draining it can be as a result.

She said: “It’s lonely, and it can be difficult mentally. I’ve had a rough couple of weeks the last few weeks with trolls and hate.

“But, I have a thick skin and I’m very honest, and if I do something wrong I’ll take accountability.”

The news comes after we also revealed that former Eurovision hopeful Brooke Scullion could be part of next year’s series.
