‘I am Ervi’ happy to be with my girl I met at the gym’
DANCING with the Stars pro Ervinas Merfeldas revealed he met girlfriend Audrey by chance at the gym.
The Kildare man said the relationship “came out of nowhere” but that the pair are “very happy” together.
Ervinas and Audrey made things official after his incredible first season on the RTE show last year, where he rose to fame while paired with social media star and model Missy Keating.
Ervinas told RSVP Live: “We have been together for a few months. Funnily enough we met at the gym and it came out of nowhere. It happened though and we are together, and we are very happy.
“She loves the show and the idea that I am a pro on it is just as bizarre to her as it is to me.
“She likes to throw the word ‘celeb’ around the place every now and then because she sees me on TV.
“She works in social care so her day to day job is taking care of people and she is very hands on with her work.”
Ervinas is paired with former Ireland soccer star Stephanie Roche, but he would love to see Mrs. Brown’s Boys creator and star Brendan O’Carroll on the show in the future.
He said: “One show I always watched growing up was Mrs. Brown’s Boys.
“Maybe I was too young to watch it or maybe I wasn’t, but it was always a great show to watch.
“I would love to see Brendan O’Carroll on the show and see how he would do.”
Ervinas said that Missy Keating’s stint on the show means that her brother Jack will have to now slip on his dancing shoes.
He said: “I think he has to do it now that Missy has done it. Another member of the family needs to sign up, that is how it works.”
