Sitcom star Cindy dies at age 75
Keane joins Neville and Carragher for live Dublin date
ACTRESS Cindy Williams — among the most recognisable US stars in the 1970s and 80s for her role on the beloved sitcom Laverne & Shirley — has died.
Williams died in LA at age 75 after a brief illness, with her family saying: “She was one of a kind, beautiful, generous and possessed a brilliant sense of humor and a glittering spirit that everyone loved.”
Williams also appeared in George Lucas’ American Graffiti and Francis Ford Coppola’s The Conversation before landing a lead role in Laverne & Shirley, a Happy Days spinoff.
ROY Keane and Jamie Carragher will team up with Gary Neville to take a new live TV event, The Overlap On Tour, to cities across the UK and Ireland this summer.
The events will be filmed live to be broadcast on Sky Max and will see Neville expand on his popular podcast and YouTube brand, discussing everything from football to current affairs with his co-presenters Keane and Carragher.
They will be joined by prominent names from sport, public life and politics with no topics off-limits. Subjects up for discussion will range from homelessness and inequality to the billions being poured into football in England. The Dublin show will be on March 23. The producers say they want to visit cities that have been important in the life and careers of the three ex-pros — and a hometown stop in Cork for Keano could yet be added to the tour.
Sky says the trio will be followed by cameras as they hit the road, mixing footage from the fan forums where the Sky Sports pundits will be grilled by supporters, along with scenes of them stopping at sites that hold special significance during their careers.
Neville said: “With Roy Keane and Jamie Carragher for company, we’ve got great live events lined up for London, Liverpool, Manchester and Dublin.”
