Jim Thiebaud, Bam captioned the snap with a flame emoji — but it was enough to have fans rushing to support him in the Instagram comments section.

One begged: “Praying for ya Bam! I idolised you when I was 6 watching you on MTV, ya showed us sobriety once, can’t wait to see it again!” would be infinitely more appropriate than having the fight in the 8,000 seat 3Arena.

“Katie Taylor deserves the best treatment that her country can give her.

“It is almost unforgivable to see the petty squabbling that is going on about costs when this young lady has almost single-handed elevated Irish women’s boxing to the meteoric status it now enjoys.”

Legend

Deputy Collins added: “Bring Katie to Cork, the county of legends. It is the least that this living legend deserves.”

Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn claimed that staging the Olympian’s bout against Amanda Serrano at Croke Park would cost three times more than Wembley.

A PAIR of daters were

● reunited on First Dates Ireland after matching on dating apps over the years.

Adam (28) and Clodagh (27) immediately recognised each other when “introduced” at the Gibson Hotel during Thursday’s episode of First Dates.

They are both from the same Dublin suburb of Tallaght. They had also matched on various dating apps and even chatted to each other on them.

“He was with the

● wrong crowd when he was younger,” Clodagh said of Adam but viewers saw her warming to the more mature version of Adam in front of her.

He made no secret of the fact that he fancied Clodagh but highlighted a stumbling block by saying: “It’s very, very hard to be happy with somebody that lives in Tallaght if you’re from Tallaght”.

The pair have since

Late Late Show host Ryan Tubridy urged for “special dispensation” to be made for Katie.

“I think they should make a special dispensation in Croke Park to bring Katie Taylor home and give her the homecoming that woman deserves,” he told The Star.

“She deserves a lot more than an overpriced hall, that is a beautiful hall, but she needs the respect she deserves and that is a fight in Croke Park.”

Meanwhile late last night fellow fighter Conor McGregor caused a stir online when he waded into the row — offering to pay €500,000 for security costs at Croke Park to allow the fight to happen.

Writing on Twitter, MMA star McGregor said: “The extra security bill is 500k to have Katie Taylor fight at croke park?

“I will sponsor the event to see this happen.”
