When Posner died in 2010, she left Conchita a €2million trust fund and a €5.5m beachfront mansion.

Her son Bret got a mere €750,000.

Flamboyant US hotelier Leona Helmsley, who died in 2007, left her pup €7 million in her will – and disinherit­ed her two grandchild­ren at the same time. It was later reduced to €1m by a court.

Kalu the chimp

Posh Brit O’Neill adored Kalu – the chimp lived in luxury at her country estate and slept in the same bed as her owner. O’Neill even wrote her husband out of her will in favour of Kalu, who stood to inherit €45m.

But O’Neill frittered away her money and after getting caught in a scam, she was left skint when she died in 2019. Friends clubbed together to care for penniless Kalu – who now lives at the Monkey World sanctuary in Dorset.
