game stands and Kilmacud Crokes will remain as All-Ireland champions.

“Watty Graham’s GAC, Glen, lodged an objection to the result of the AllIreland club final because we believed that grounds existed for a replay to be held if Rule 6.44 had been broken,’’ read a statement from the club.

“However, the club does not now believe that the opportunity is there for a replay to go ahead.

“Due to the ongoing proceedings, we, as a club, now do not believe the conditions exist for a replay to be contested.

Thank

“Consequently, Watty Graham’s, Glen would like to withdraw from this process.

“Watty Graham’s GAC would like to thank our members for all the support they have given to our players, management and committee.”

The statement ended: “We will go again. Onwards and upwards. An Gleann Abu!”

ROBERTO De Zerbi has encouraged Brighton fans to get behind wantaway midfielder Moises Caicedo.

The Ecuadorian is poised to return to the squad for today’s clash with Bournemouth after failing to force a move before the transfer deadline.

The Seagulls turned down two bids from Arsenal for Caicedo

(21).

Having last week expressed his desire to leave the club in an open letter posted on social media, he was given time off until the closure of the transfer window and missed his side’s FA Cup win over Liverpool.

Boss De Zerbi said: “I am very happy Moises stays with us until the end of the season.

“I want to speak to our fans because I want them to support him. I don’t want them to criticise him.

“I love Moises, the people who work inside of Brighton love Moises, he’s a good guy.

“I don’t know if he made a mistake or not but the transfer market is closed and the fans must follow me because I take responsibility for him.”

Caicedo returned to training on Wednesday. He has scored twice in 26 top-flight appearances for Brighton and has a contact until 2025.

Remain

De Zerbi is unsure whether Caicedo will remain at the Amex beyond the summer but continued to offer a staunch defence of the player’s actions.

“I don’t know,” added the Italian when asked if Caicedo will leave before next season.

“I want to be responsible about him because I believe in Moises.

“I don’t know the situation in the future but he’s a good guy and I want to defend him now.

“In other times I spoke a different way for the other players but for Moises it’s different.

“We need the performance of Moises and he’s a fantastic guy, so I don’t want to hear criticism or anything more.”

Meanwhile, Cherries boss Gary O’Neil says Bournemouth boosted their Premier League survival hopes with their January transfer window signings.

The Cherries, third bottom of the table, brought in six new players — including deadline-day deals for Illia Zabarnyi and Hamed Traore.

O’Neil said: “We set out a plan for January and everyone did a good job.

“We’ve recruited in areas we needed and added some quality to the groups.”
