Crowley relishes EJ battle

UNIVERSITY of Galway Maree have another Western Derby in the MyVan.ie Men’s League tonight as Charlie Crowley takes his Pat Duffy Cup winners to play EJ League All Stars tonight.

“Our lads know they need a big improvemen­t from last week’s game against Moycullen,” says Crowley (above).

DBS Eanna have lost two in a row and Darren McGovern will be hoping he can put things right at home to Bright St Vincent’s tonight.

“Last weekend was a disappoint­ing loss and we have a chance to restart our season at home tonight,” he says.

In the other games, Griffith College Templeogue host Killester this afternoon at the National Basketball Arena; UCD Marian are at home to Belfast Star; Moycullen host Emporium Cork Basketball; and Flexacham Killorglin have a Kerry derby game against Garvey’s Tralee Warrior’s.

Huge

In the MissQuote.ie Women’s League tomorrow at the Mardyke, champions Glanmire take on the in-form Trinity Meteors, and coach Mark Scannell is relishing the challenge.

“A huge game and we are preparing accordingl­y,” he says.

“With six games to go we are still in the thick of things and considerin­g our player turnover there is huge credit due to our players in the way they have battled.

“We will have to be at our very best as we’ve lost to them twice this season.”

Cup winners Killester have a Dublin-Cork battle against Brunell at what will surely be a packed IWA arena.

Elsewhere, University of Galway Mystics will be trying their hardest to put one over on Waterford Wildcats.

Ulster University are at home to Leixlip Amenities Liffey Celtics and in tomorrow’s second game DCU Mercy host i3PT Fr Mathews.
