THE Kinahan cartel’s No 1 lieutenant in Ireland has turned up in a Co Meath town carrying out a bizarre exercise routine in a public area before enjoying a coffee and lunch afterwards.
Ross Browning, a key player in the murderous international drug-trafficking organised crime gang, was spotted in public for the first time in years on Sunday morning in Ashbourne.
He performed his exercises for nearly two hours at the edge of a basketball court in the town — which is less than 10km from Garristown, where last year the Criminal Assets Bureau seized his home — while dog walkers and joggers passed by oblivious of his identity.
Dressed in a woollen hat, dark blue T-shirt and black tracksuit bottoms, the bearded hood performed a number of bizarre moves during his exercise routine before doing chin-ups on the basketball hoop bars.
Once he finished his exercise routine, which lasted over an hour, he drove off in a van that was parked nearby before stopping for coffee and lunch outside a local coffee shop, which our exclusive images show.
The fitness guru opened an Instagram account in recent months in which he posts numerous videos on social media showing his exercise routines and poses along with poems and musings.
Last year, the High Court deemed his property in Garristown, along with a second house in Deanstown in Finglas, to be the proceeds of crime as part of CAB’s €1.4m case against him.
The Garristown property, on 1.2 acres, was purchased partly with Browning’s drug money.
Escape
A receiver was appointed to take charge of the renovated cottage in Garristown where his mother Julie Conway and her partner, ex-garda Dave O’Brien, had been living, as well as a luxury house behind the cottage, paddocks and an indoor showjumping arena.
The property featured an ‘escape hatch’ concealed with a hanging carpet leading from the house to the shed behind it. Gardai are still investigating Browning’s role in a number of cartel operations over the years and he is closely monitored at all times.
