his part and he said: “Ever since I’ve been here, there’s been that attitude of never give up and go until the end.

“The boys did that and we managed to get three goals at the end of it. Any win you get is going to be massive. We want to get three points each and every week.”

Idah was spared the half-time boot up the backsides from Brendan Rodgers given he was on the bench.

But he knew more was required and delivered the goods after replacing the ineffectual Kyogo.

Idah said: “It was a tough 45 but we spoke at half-time about what we needed to do, get together as a team and stick to the game plan.

“To be fair to everyone, we did the game plan well and got three points.

“We know ourselves that the performance in the first half wasn’t great. But we got together at half-time and we all had belief.

Confident

“We were still confident that we were going to get something from the game and that’s all we needed to do.

“You could tell in the second half, we had more composure and kept the ball a bit better. We dominated the second half.”

Gaffer Rodgers insists Hoops’ Fir Park salvage job shows they have the heart for a title scrap — even if it didn’t do his blood pressure any favours.

Rodgers — who has seen his team score 21 goals in the last 15 minutes of matches this season — said: “Celtic’s never good for the blood pressure, that’s for sure! It never is.

“It shows the belief. And that has to be at the forefront of everything because that comes before performance. It hasn’t been the most fluent this season for so many reasons, but now I think we are getting some key players back and it is starting to really stiffen it up for us.” words fell on deaf ears in that first half Fir Park.

Celts were a bag of nerves.

A lot of that was down to the way Well started.

They had no intention of sitting back and admiring the Hoops. And why wouldn’t they? There’s not a heck of a lot to admire at the moment — but there are plenty of weaknesses.

The Steelmen looked to expose the one down the inside left channel of the Hoops backing on the break. It worked a treat.

Bair was denied an opener inside three minutes when Miller brilliantly carved a pass for the frontman to race through and he skinned Ireland defender Liam Scales with a superb chop before tucking past Joe Hart.

Flag

Celts were saved by an offside flag but Jack Vale almost exposed them again soon after before Maik Nawrocki stuck out a toe at the last minute.

Even when Rodgers’ side got some degree of control of the game, the still looked vulnerable.

Vale tested Hart with a curling effort when he got in behind and Georgie Gent had an even better chance when the entire Celtic defence got dragged across leaving him wide open.
