JORDAN CLARK reckons Luton should turn the air blue every week to clinch Premier League survival.

Hatters players held heated talks in a fiery team meeting last Thursday, a day after losing 2-0 to Arsenal, and were rewarded with their first win in 11 Premier League games against Bournemouth.

They also showed bags of character, coming back from Marcus Tavernier’s opener to win with an equaliser from Clark (above) and skipper Carlton Morris’ lastminute winner.

And now that Luton have shown they can talk the talk behind closed doors, Clark insists they must continue to walk the walk in the spotlight.

He said: “We spoke about this game all week. We had the meeting with the lads. A lot of choice words were said. It’s nice to see it come off.

“It was really, really productive. It looked like it worked. Maybe we should do it every week!

“You need to do it. I’ve seen it in a few clubs I’ve been at. A few harsh words. We’re all mates. We’re like a family.

“So whenever someone digs someone out or says something bad, everyone knows it isn’t personal.

“It’s just trying to help the team for the next game. We know we can do it.

“We have just got to show it now. It’s no good just talking about it in meetings. But it was nice to see people

ROB EDWARDS thinks Luton may have to win four of their last six matches to stay up.

They won for the first time in 11 games against Bournemouth to boost their hopes of survival.

“But we had a good eight or nine players all sharing their thoughts and getting things off their chest, and that’s always good.”

It doesn’t get any easier for Luton with a trip to Manchester City next.

Clark scored twice against City the last time they played, in the FA Cup in February, but the Hatters lost 6-2.

He added: “It would be nice to get two more goals! We’re not silly, it’s the hardest game in the world. That’s why we had to win this one.

“It was so important. We will go there with a game plan to win. But we’re not daft. We know how hard it will be.

“We were speaking to the Arsenal players after we played them and they were saying that you can’t get out of your own half.

“They suffocate you. It’s demoralising. But we have gone to the big teams and competed really well, so who knows, eh?”

Cherries boss Andoni Iraola, who lost Tavernier to a hamstring injury, said: “Luton has spirit. You can see they were playing for salvation.

“We should have been ruthless and taken our chances. We were comfortable but we were not damaging them.”

under no illusions about the size of the task facing his injury-hit side.

The Hatters boss said: “If I say three wins gives us a chance… I don’t know, we might need four. We might need another 12 points, which is some going, but we are in the fight.

“At the moment we are in that mix. We are just going to go into every game and try our best to try to win it.”
