A LILY BIT OF COUNTRY..

EVEN Lily Allen is preparing to saddle up and enter the world of country music following the humongous success of Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter.

Speaking on Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett’s Dish podcast, Lily revealed she too has been writing for the genre, saying: “I’m just trying some stuff out, see if it works.

I do love country and western music. And also I feel like with my writing, it’s quite storytelling, narrative-led music.”

After previously calling Queen Bey’s transition “calculated” Lily insisted the move is actually a natural one for her.

She added: “I’m here because I love country music and always have done. Not saying Beyonce doesn’t, but I tell stories in my music and that’s what country music is.”

“I was sceptical at first in terms of a solo trip, but actually highly recommend it! “Sometimes you just need that quality ‘you time’!”
