court as being key members of Daniel Kinahan’s mob.

Lee Gibson, who was once photographed with mob boss Daniel, was named in the High Court in Dublin as one of 20 key associates of Liam Byrne, the man who is now regarded as the leader of the Kinahan cartel in the UK and Ireland.

Soldier

The Criminal Assets Bureau made the claim as part of their case against Byrne (40).

CAB told the court: “Lee Gibson is a foot soldier for Liam Byrne. He is involved in the dayto-day business of the organised crime group (OCG) and through the investigation into the business it has been established that he has been involved in the importation and registration of several vehicles.

“Lee Gibson travels to the UK and

Spain at the behest of this OCG and has been stopped in the company of senior members of this OCG on a regular basis.”

Gibson is also a close pal of Liam

Byrne’s son Lee — who has no involvement in organised crime himself.

Barry Finnegan, meanwhile, is a notorious convicted rapist and associate of the Kinahan cartel.

He was also previously questioned in relation to the murder of Eddie Hutch, brother of Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch, on February 8, 2016.

Gardai believe the murder was a retaliation for the Regency Hotel murder of David Byrne three days earlier.

Investigators classify Finnegan as a major associate of the Kinahan cartel.

Finnegan was named in submissions to the High Court from the Criminal Assets Bureau in its successful case against Byrne in 2018. Meanwhile, Nathan “Biggie” Little was named in the High Court by the CAB as being a low-level member of the Byrne Organised Crime Group. Over the years he has also been regularly photographed in the company of Liam Byrne’s son Lee — who he regards as a close pal.

The Kinahan/Hutch feud erupted when Gary Hutch, a nephew of ‘The Monk,’ was shot dead on the orders of the Kinahan cartel in Spain in September 2015.

The Kinahan cartel then attempted to murder The Monk in Lanzarote — but failed.

Daring

The Hutch gang then struck back in the most daring gangland shooting incident in the history of the State — blasting their way into a boxing weigh-in event in Dublin’s Regency Hotel in February 2016.

The Kinahan mob, with its vast resources and wealth, then struck back in force — murdering the Monk’s brother Eddie three days later, and going on to have 16 more men killed.
