Top class grazing ground in the heart of ‘Obama Country’

-

BARACK OBAMA certainly put Moneygall on the map.

The Co Offaly village has made the most of its presidential connections and dedicated one of the main businesses in the area to the former president.

‘Barack Obama Plaza’ is one of the busiest motorway service stations in the country and I’m sure Mr Obama dines out on the story that “there’s a gas station in Ireland named after me.”

Anyway, there is also good land around Moneygall and a parcel of 34.07ac of this good ground is for sale by private treaty and currently under a healthy offer of €300,000.

Located close to Junction 23 on the M7 and the village of Moneygall the holding is situated almost directly behind the aforementioned Barak Obama Plaza. It is described by Nenagh agent Eoin Dillon of REA Eoin Dillon as exceptional quality grassland renowned for being highly productive.

The land has most recently been farmed as an out-farm to a dairy enterprise and is serviced by electricity and a new private well.

Laid out in four level fields the place is currently all in grass having been re-seeded and fenced by the vendor who is in the process of buying a larger holding beside his milking platform and therefore wishes to sell the ground at Moneygall.

Immediately adjacent to this property is the farmhouse and yard that was once the homestead of the 34.07ac parcel. Set on 1.45ac it is still owned by the original owners and this is also for sale by private treaty in a separate transaction.

The dwelling is a detached two storey building on a mature site of 1.45ac with a large shed to the rear.

The accommodation comprises an entrance porch, kitchen, living room, pantry, bathroom and two bedrooms. The house has not been lived in a number of years and requires substantial refurbishment and modernisation. The residence on 1.45ac is under a current offer of €65,000.
