Berthoud spreads its wings

BERTHOUD, the French sprayer manufactur­er, has unveiled a new line of tractor mounted sprayers that are expected to be popular sellers in Ireland. The sprayers will be sold in Ireland through importers Murphy Machinery of Kilkenny.

Known as the Hermes range, the new sprayer is available in three capacities; 800, 1,000 and 1,200 litres with boom options of 15, 16 and 18 metres. The addition adds to and sits in between the existing range of Berthoud tractor- mounted sprayers. The new model is 30cm narrower and 10cm lower in height than previous versions. Its weight optimisati­on and centre of gravity that is closer to the tractor improves weight distributi­on, This also allows the Hermes sprayer to be used on smaller tractors while having the benefit of a compact sprayer with rear-folding booms.

The Hermes is equipped with a new range of ALSR rear-folding booms with the option of 15, 16 or 18m widths. The boom features three steel arms and has good stability and solid performanc­e on slopes, bends and on flat land. It has a road width of 2.55m. The EcoMatic control system is fitted as standard on the Hermes range. aluminium for a longer service life.

Rinsing is a crucial step in spraying, and the EcoMatic system s offers the user the option to follow a simple pre-defined sequential rinse procedure. Ray Kent of Murphy Machinery says that prices are expected to start from €xxxx plus VAT.
