Mid Tipp grassland holding guided at €8,000 per acre

TIPPERARY is the scene of a lively land market at the moment. Perhaps the buyers and sellers of farms in the Premier county want their business done and dusted well in advance of a hurling season they hope will result in back-to-back All Irelands.

Two good sized Tipperary farms coming on the market include a 49ac farm at Gurteenphooka, Donohill to be sold at auction tomorrow with a guide of €8,000/ac

Located between Donohill and Cappawhite not far from Tipp town the farm has extensive road frontage on to two roads. The land is described by Matt Ryan of Matthew Ryan & Son as good quality grassland that is well sheltered and well fenced. “The place has been rented for about 20 years and needs some attention,” he said. “A 10ac piece of ground needs a bit of drainage but aside from that it is the best of grass land with plenty of potential.”

It will be sold at auction tomorrow, Wednesday, April 12 at 3pm at Ballykisteen Hotel, Limerick Junction, Tipperary.

BALLYCAHILL AUCTION

Not far away at Ballycahill Vincent Ryan of Thurles based auctioneers Thomas V. Ryan is bringing a 67.7ac non-residential farm for sale later in the month with a guide price of €665,000.

Located at Moyaliff, Ballycahill the holding is about 11km south west of Thurles and comes with plenty of road frontage.

Described as a top class grass farm it includes a derelict house, old sheds and a traditional yard. The roadside fields are elevated slightly and slope down towards the River Farney Bridge that forms part of the boundary.

On the day the farm will be offered in three lots that include the derelict house and farmyard on 3.8ac while the remaining 63.9ac of land in grass will make up the second lot with the entire forming the last.

The auction takes place at 2pm at Hayes Hotel, Thurles on Friday, April 28.
