CILLIN Hill in Kilkenny was the venue for a special event showing off the latest in grass and tillage machinery from Kverneland Group Ireland last Thursday.
There was a broad line up of equipment on display ranging from ploughs and cultivators to round balers, hedge cutters and mower conditioners.
Kverneland Ireland’s John Mulhall said the ‘Future of Farming’ themed event was a big success, drawing a crowd of around 2,000 visitors comprising a mix of farmers, contractors and farm machinery dealers.
Mr Mulhall also sounded a positive note for 2018 sales prospects, with strong orders already incoming for grass machinery and sales of ploughs and cultivators seemingly holding their own.
“I think we will have a sim- ilar year to last year — not spectacular but what I would call a steady year,” he explained.
“We had lots of sales from last week’s event and also took plenty of good leads for further sales into the spring. People think of Kverneland in Ireland as being synonymous with tillage kit, but we actually sell a lot of grass machinery now as well; balers, mowers etc.”
With spring sowing season around the corner there was lots of interest in the latest tillage machinery.
Silage contractors also had plenty to see, with a new triple mower conditioner and a record breaking round baler just some of the attractions on show.
